The STEVE MCQUEEN EYEWEAR brand was born in 2019 from the collaboration of two complementary friends: Gilles Macaluso and Pierre Meguetounif. They join their strengths to perpetuate the Steve McQueen legend and reveal their very first eyewear collection the same year.

SAN CLEMENTE
Is the name of the city in which he married his wife Niele Adams. Indeed, in 1956, on a whim, they decided to get married and traveled the road on a motorbike. In a hurry to finally be married, they drive at full speed and are stopped by the police, to whom they tell their irrepressible desire to say yes. In order to verify the veracity of their words, the 2 police officers escort them to the SAN CLEMENTE church in California, to end up as witnesses of their union.

Light to wear to feel free as Steve McQueen was, frames are developed and conceptualized in Europe.
We made the choice to selected carefully
every material that’s constitued a frame,
most of raw materials used are from Italy with a Mazzucchelli acetate, Comotec screws and OBE hinges.
Finishes are the result of a real researche and hard work, because each component is specially design for the brand: hinges, end-tips, screws…
Every single pieces is a SMQ Eyewear creation, inspired by his life and loves. Each frame is named in reference to Steve McQueen’s life.
